The title song was written in response to all the world marches against racial intolerance.

Using 3 songs written in the time leading up to the pandemic and 7 songs written during the pandemic I am proud to be releasing a new CD in the fall of 2020 called HEARTBEAT OF THE WORLD. This Folk album is produced by Calgary producer/recording artist, Aaron Young , who brings his amazing musicianship and harmonies. I write in a wide range of styles and Aaron brought the exact right beauty, style and emotion to each of the songs. This CD includes swing, bluegrass, folk story telling, world beat, old time blues and humour. I believe these songs will make listeners laugh, perhaps cry, definitely think and finally connect with a feeling of hopefulness and purpose!

I attended Folk Alliance in New Orleans from January 21 to January 28, 2020. FAI is an international Folk Music conference!I I showcased as part of the Alberta room with the other Alberta delegates!! I met and mentored with Eliza Gilkyson and came home more determined that ever to keep moving forward with my music!!

Carolyn released her first lyric video called BRAND NEW MILE on November 24, 2018!!
This song encourages us to connect with our body and our world!! It was written after a fitness/yoga class. The vocal and guitar were recorded in Calgary. The cello was recorded in Venezuela, the video was created in Sri Lanka and the final mastering was done in the United States. Such is the power of new technology!! Feel free to share this video back out into the world to perhaps bring some peace to people who feel connected to the song!!

BANFF CENTRE MUSICIANS RESIDENCY PROGRAMME
I attended The Banff Centre Musicians Residency Programme for two weeks and completed a first draft of my musical Welcome To Fairlight. A musical mystery about the many ways we work music into our lives!

CANADA 150
- Carolyn had more than a dozen opportunities to sing her Ballad of the Famous Five during Canada's celebration of 150 years since confederation.
- Carolyn is proud to be invited to sing The Ballad of The Famous Five as part of CKUA Tom Coxworth's concert of 150 Years of Canadian Folk.
- Carolyn performed her Famous 5 songs with TALES (traditional oral story telling group) and as a 'tweener' at the Canmore Folk Festival! We are blessed to live in such a wonderful country!!
